ABOUT US
Pages for the Sol, founded in January 2024, is dedicated to improving literacy among bilingual and Hispanic students in Santa Ana, CA, and fostering a lifelong love of reading. We believe strong literacy skills are key to academic success and future opportunities.
In Santa Ana, many students face challenges like limited access to books, underfunded schools, and language barriers. Our mission is to address these issues by offering community-based reading programs, bilingual support, and book access initiatives. Through workshops and reading buddy programs, we aim to help students build reading skills, gain confidence, and develop public speaking abilities.
We also strive to connect students with culturally relevant, bilingual materials to foster pride in their heritage and create a sense of belonging. Our goal is to break the cycle of low literacy while strengthening cultural ties and building a more engaged, educated community.
